Whiteoak ends season in D5 District Quarterfinals at North Adams

Playing in the Division V SE District Quarterfinals against a conference rival, the Whiteoak Wildcats lost in the tournament game, seeing their season come to a close against the North Adams Green Devils by a 7-0 score, Thursday at NAHS. 

The No. 15 seeded Wildcats this postseason won in the first round against No. 18 seeded Rock Hill by an 8-0 score, sending them to the quarterfinals against the No. 2 seeded Green Devils. 

NAHS will now face No. 7 seeded Minford on Oct. 22. 

This season for Whiteoak, they were led in goals scored by Christopher Wessner with 20, Lucas Pollard with 17 and Abe Flader with 14. The assists leaders were Wessner and Pollard with eight assists each. 

For the season, the Wildcats scored 64 goals, as they end the year at 8-10-1 overall and they finished 1-6-1 in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference. Whiteoak’s wins this season were against Portsmouth Clay (3-2), Western Latham (11-2), Wellston (11-1), Ripley (6-1), Felicity (3-0), McClain (3-2) and Rock Hill (8-0). 

Seniors for Whiteoak are Shawn Mitchell-Cox, Kenyon Hughes, Shane Mitchell-Cox and Cody Richards.
