Whiteoak, East Clinton split weekend softball DH
In a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats split two non-conference games against the visiting East Clinton Lady Astros.
The first game saw WHS win by a 2-1 score with WHS scoring runs in the bottom off the third and sixth innings. ECHS scored their lone run in the top of the seventh.
WHS finished with five hits in the win, and ECHS also had five hits.
At the plate for the Lady ‘Cats, Lilly Leston was 2-for-3 with one run and three steals. Molly McMullen was 1-for-3 with two steals. Madison Davidson drew a walk and had a steal, while Addy Roberts went 1-for-3. Matty Conrad scored a run and had two steals, and Elena Limon finished 1-for-2 with two steals.
Bri Hill was the winning pitche,r as she went 6.1 innings in the circle, finishing with 12 strikeouts. She allowed one earned run on four hits and one walk.
In game two, WHS lost to East Clinton, 9-2. In that game, WHS scored both of their runs in the sixth inning. WHS finished with six hits.
Jaylie Parr was 1-for-3 with a run and two steals. Leston finished 1-for-3, and Molly McMullen went 3-for-3 with one run, an RBI and she hit a triple.
Hill collected an RBI, and Davidson was 1-for-3 with two steals. Elly McMullen drew a walk for WHS. Leston had the pitching loss with eight strikeouts.
The weekend split sends WHS to a 3-3 overall record.
