Lady ‘Cats lose on the road at North Adams
The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats suffered a Southern Hills Athletic Conference loss on Monday night (Jan. 22), falling by a 74-36 score at North Adams.
It was a close game for the first frame as Whiteoak battled the Lady Green Devils to a 13-11 deficit, but North Adams took over in the second frame at 19-6, for a 32-17 score at halftime.
In the third frame, North Adams scored 22 points and WHS scored 11 points. The fourth quarter saw North Adams score 20 points and Whiteoak score eight points.
Molly McMullen led WHS with 12 points as she made one 3-pointer, three two-point baskets and she was 3-of-3 from their free-throw line.
The remaining WHS scoring included Lydia Carr (8), Jaylie Parr (5), Addy Hauke (5), Kylee Hamm (3) and Addison Roberts (3).
For the game, WHS totaled four 3-pointers (Hamm, Carr, McMullen, Hauke), and from the free-throw line they finished 12-of-14.
North Adams was 5-of-11 from the free-throw line in the game, and they were led in scoring by Kenlie Jones with 20 points and Tatum Grooms with 19 points.
The loss moves Whiteoak to 7-3 in the Division II SHAC standings (tied for first place) and 12-6 overall.
North Adams improves to 9-1 in the SHAC Division I standings (first place) and 13-4 overall.
