Lady ’Cats fall to North Adams, Fayetteville in SHAC action
Thus far this week, the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats have played in two Southern Hills Athletic Conference games, falling to the North Adams Lady Green Devils and to the Fayetteville Lady Rockets.
On Monday (March 31), the Lady ’Cats lost by a score of 4-1 at NAHS where both teams were scoreless through the first four innings. Then, in the bottom of the fifth, NAHS scored their first run of the game, while WHS answered with a run in the top of the sixth for a 1-1 score.
North Adams came back with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, eventually winning the game by three runs at 4-1.
WHS totaled two hits and had one error, while the Lady Green Devils had eight hits and no errors.
Jenna Canada of WHS was 1-for-3 with one RBI, and Kylee Ruark went 1-for-1 and was hit by a pitch.
Scoring Whiteoak’s lone run was McKinley Mootz, as she also forced a walk.
Canada, Ruark and Mootz each finished with a steal.
Kyra Boyd pitched six innings, allowing four earned runs and having seven strikeouts in her first season as a varsity pitcher.
North Adams totaled eight hits with seven batters having at least one. Lilly Parker of NAHS was 2-for-2 with one RBI to lead the Lady Green Devils.

On Thursday, April 2, WHS lost to Fayetteville by an 11-0 score at Whiteoak High School in SHAC action.
Fayetteville totaled 15 hits and had no errors, while WHS finished with seven hits and two errors.
Jenna Canada was 2-for-3 with a double, and Kyra Boyd also had two hits at 2-for-3. Ending the game with one hit each were Kiley Mitchell (1-for-3), McKinley Mootz (1-for-3) and Jada Combs (1-for-2). Chanel Captain forced a walk for WHS.
Captain, Canada, Mitchell and Boyd each had a steal. Boyd was charged with the loss, pitching seven innings with 10 strikeouts.
WHS is scheduled to play again Tuesday, April 7 at home against Manchester in SHAC action.
