Mustangs tie with SHAC rival Eastern

Playing in an important Southern Hills Athletic Conference game on Monday evening, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs tied with a conference rival, the Eastern Warriors, by a 2-2 score in a game played at LCHS.

Goals for the Warriors were scored by Maxwell Casteel and Noah Shuemake, with Casteel’s goal assisted by Shuemake.

EHS keeper Chase Pinkerton totaled 12 saves.

For the Mustangs, their goals were scored by Cody Bell and Josiah Burns. Being credited with an assist was Noah Bitzer.

The tie leaves the Mustangs at 4-0-1 in the SHAC boys soccer standings, as they are second place. The Mustangs are 5-2-1 overall.

Currently in first place is North Adams at 4-0-0 overall.

Eastern improves to 3-2-2 in the SHAC and 4-4-2 overall.

Next for LCHS was a SHAC home game Wednesday, Sept. 18 against the Peebles Indians with a 6:30 p.m. start.
