Mustangs score 15 runs in win over West Union

Having 10 hits and no errors, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs gained another win in Southern Hills Athletic Conference play by defeating the West Union Dragons, 15-0 in five innings at WUHS. 

LCHS started with five runs in the top of the first inning, followed by two runs in the second and eight runs in the third. 

WUHS totaled three hits and had three errors. 

Tanner Roberts was 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs and a steal. 

Quin Wells finished 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, one double and was hit by a pitch.

Kristian Beachy went 1-for-3 with two runs, one RBI, a double, a walk and a steal. Caden Boone went 1-for-2 with two runs and was hit by a pitch. Luke Davis finished the win at 1-for-1 with a double. 

Elam Faust was 1-for-2 with two runs, one RBI, a double, two walks and he was also hit by a pitch. 

Trevor Niehaus ended the day at 1-for-3 with two runs, one RBI, a double, one walk and two steals. Tristin Puckett finished 1-for-1. 

LCHS also had Max Baker force a walk, and teammate Aiden Bene scored a run and walked once. Harley Lewis scored a run, walked once and had a steal. Aric Slack also forced a walk for the Mustangs. 

Roberts pitched two innings for LCHS where he allowed no hits, one walk, no earned runs and had six strikeouts. Wells pitched three innings, allowing three hits, no earned runs, three walks and nine strikeouts. 

LCHS now stands at 8-0 in the SHAC Division I standings (first place) and 11-3 overall. WUHS is 1-8 in the SHAC Div. I standings and 1-12 overall.
