Mustangs baseball falls to Batavia 

Friday, May 10 saw the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs fall in a non-conference road game to the Batavia Bulldogs, 8-0 at BHS. 

LCHS had one hit and three errors in the loss, while Batavia totaled seven hits and no errors. 

The lone hit for the Mustangs came off the bat of Cole Wells, who was 1-for-3 in the game. Josiah Burns, Tyler Niehaus, Braedon West and Austin Bell each drew a walk. 

Lynchburg-Clay pitching allowed just three earned runs, as West pitched 4.2 innings, allowing six runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks with one strikeout. Christian Flowers pitched 0.2 innings, allowing two earned runs on one hit and two walks. Isaac Eyre also pitched 0.2 innings, allowing no runs on one hit and no walks with one strikeout. 

The loss sends LCHS to a record of 13-8 overall. LCHS finished the regular season with a SHAC Division I record of 11-2 for second place in the Div. I SHAC standings. Eastern won the Div. I title with an 11-2 record in the SHAC.
