Lynchburg-Clay soccer teams sweep Peebles in SHAC opener
With both the boys and girls soccer teams on the road for the first Southern Hills Athletic Conference game of the 2025 season, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs soccer program won both matches against the host Peebles Indians on Monday, Aug. 18.
The Lynchburg-Clay boys team defeated Peebles 2-0. Goals by the Mustangs were both scored by Elam Faust with one of the goals assisted by Darren Odum.
As for Peebles, they finished with keeper Holden Crum having seven saves. LCHS keeper Tanner Roberts finished with three saves.
The win improves the Mustangs to 2-0 on the season with a 1-0 record in the SHAC.
The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs returned to Southern Hills Athletic Conference play on Monday, winning their SHAC opener by a 3-1 score at Peebles High School.
LCHS had their three goals scored by three players, those being Lily Ferguson, Lily Layne and Willow Smith as all three goals were unassisted.
At goal for the Lady Mustangs was Caitlyn Collins with four saves.
Lynchburg-Clay’s win improves them to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the SHAC.
