Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs gain 3-run win over Eastern
Scoring all five runs in the first four innings on Monday (April 22), the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs defeated the Eastern Lady Warriors, 5-2 at LCHS.
The Southern Hills Athletic Conference game saw the Lady Mustangs collect seven hits in the victory, while their visiting conference counterpart Eastern had four hits.
The two teams combined for six errors, as each team committed three errors.
Two Lady Mustang players each had two hits, with Noel Barnhill going 2-for-4 with two doubles.
Also with two hits was Autumn Griffith, as she was 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Madison Baker finished the game 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI. LCHS also had Jazmine Brown go 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Lynchburg-Clay also had Caitlyn Collins finish 1-for-2 with one run and a double. Kami Collins was 1-for-2 with one run and two walks.
Madison McMullen was 1-for-3, and Sophia Michael went 1-for-3 with a run and one walk.
Also for LCHS, Avery Blankenship collected a walk, Reese Ruble scored a run and Miranda Smith also scored a run.
Barnhill was the winning pitcher, as she pitched all seven innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and no walks, with 12 strikeouts.
LCHS also collected five steals as a team, with Smith having two, and with one steal each were Brown, Caitlyn Collins and Michael.
The Lady Mustangs are now 5-2 in the SHAC (first place Division I) and 7-6 overall.
