LC boys soccer earns win at Western Brown; Lady Mustangs fall to host Lady Broncos
Tuesday saw the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs boys soccer team earn their first win of the 2026 season, in just their second game of the fall, as they won in Mt. Orab over the host Western Brown Broncos, 5-1 at Kibler Stadium.
The Mustangs had goals in the win from freshman Colton Short (two), junior Harley Lewis, junior Quin Wells, and freshman Korbin Williams.
Assists were credited to sophomore Jason Butler and senior Alexander VanFleet.
At goal for the Mustangs were junior Tanner Roberts with five saves, and sophomore Hayden West with three saves.
The win sends LCHS to an overall record of 1-0-1. Next for the Mustangs is an away non-conference match on Saturday, Aug. 22 at Ironton St. Joseph with a start time of 11:30 a.m.
Also on Tuesday at Western Brown’s Kibler Stadium the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs lost their non-conference match by a 7-1 score.
For Western Brown, their goals were scored by senior Kendall Hanlon (two), junior Lydia Seibert (two), sophomore Bella Woodyward (two), and junior Aubry Green.
At goal for the Lady Broncos was senior Danica Verdon with five saves.
The Lady Mustangs' lone goal was scored by junior Lily Ferguson.
The Lady Mustangs are now 0-1-1 on the season. Next for LCHS is an away non-conference match on Monday, Aug. 24 in Chillicothe against the Unioto Lady Shermans at UHS with a start time of 5 p.m.
