Lady Mustangs gain 22-point win over Lady Falcons

Saturday (Jan. 27) was a cause for celebration for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs, as they earned a non-conference victory over the visiting Clinton-Massie Lady Falcons, 66-44, for a 22-point win. 

LCHS led by six points after the first quarter, outscoring the Lady Falcons 15-9 in the first frame. Then came a very strong second quarter for Lynchburg-Clay, winning the frame 22-10 and building a halftime lead of 37-19. 

CMHS won the third frame at 17-16, but the fourth frame belonged to LCHS at 13-8. 

Addison West led the scoring drive for LCHS, as she put up 23 points in the win. The senior made six two-point baskets, two 3-pointers and she was 5-of-8 from the free-throw line. West also added nine rebounds, two assists, four steals and four blocks. 

Jade Massey finished with 14 points for Lynchburg-Clay as she made four 3-pointers and one two-point basket. She also collected seven rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks. 

Macy Etienne finished with 10 points off two 3-pointers and two two-point baskets, plus she acquired one rebound, two assists, two steals and one block. 

Joslyn Rockey gained six points in the win for LCHS, plus she collected two rebounds, one assists and one steal. 

Madison McMullen finished with six points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Also for LCHS, Ella Barry scored three points and had one rebound, two assists, one steal and a block. 

Allie Waits scored two points, plus had three rebounds, one assist and three steals. 

Noel Barnhill scored two points and had one rebound and one steal. The Lady Mustangs also had a rebound from Adilyn Carraher. 

The win moves LCHS to 13-4 overall after Saturday’s game.
