Georgetown sends Lady Mustangs to non-conference loss

The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs hosted the Georgetown Lady G-Men on Thursday evening (Dec. 11) where they lost to the visitors by a 48-36 score.
At the Lynchburg-Clay High School Gymnasium, the Lady G-Men and Lady Mustangs were tied at 10-10 at the end of the first quarter, but in the second frame it was GHS taking a 22-16 halftime lead as they outscored LCHS, 12-6.
In the second half, Georgetown outscored Lynchburg-Clay 15-8 in the third, and LCHS won the fourth frame at 12-11.
Addy Carraher led LCHS with 11 points as she made three 3-pointers and was 2-of-4 from the free-throw line. Madison McMullen finished with eight points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks.
Joslyn Rockey totaled six points, nine rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block. Lily Ferguson ended the game with five points, one rebound, and four steals. Savannah Bell scored four points and added three rebounds, two assists and one steal. Ava McLaughlin ended with two points, one rebound, one assist and two steals.
LCHS team totals were nine two-point baskets, three 3-pointers, and they were 9-of-16 from the free-throw line. They also collected 25 rebounds (11 offensive), eight assists, 13 steals, three blocks and they had 12 turnovers.
The Lady Mustangs are now 1-2 in the SHAC Div. I standings and 1-5 overall.
