Three goals were more than enough needed by the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs on Wednesday (Aug. 21) victory, as they gained a Southern Hills Athletic Conference win over the visiting West Union Dragons, 3-0 at LCHS.

The Mustangs had all three goals scored by Braedon West, as the senior earned a hat trick. Two of the goals saw assists from senior Noah Bitzer and senior Josiah Burns.

At keeper for the Mustangs was senior Isaac Eyre, finishing with one save.

On Saturday (Aug. 24), the Mustangs lost a non-conference match against the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy by a 5-1 score.

The win and loss leave the Mustangs with an overall record of 3-1, with a 2-0 mark in the SHAC.

Next for the Mustangs is a SHAC match on Monday, Aug. 26 on the road at Ripley, starting at 5:30 p.m.
