A trio of Lynchburg-Clay soccer players, along with one Fairfield senior, were selected to the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association’s All-Ohio teams in Division III for their play during the 2023 season.

Leading the way with first-team honors was Lynchburg-Clay senior Jade Massey, who scored 41 goals and tallied nine assists as she was named the ’23 SE District Player of the Year. The Lady Mustangs reached the regional finals this year. In her four-year varsity career, Massey finished with 82 goals.

Earning second-team honors in Division III were Faith Donley of Fairfield and Lainie Lunsford of Lynchburg-Clay on the girls team. Lynchburg-Clay goalkeeper Isaac Eyre was also second-team All-Ohio for the Division III boys team.

Donley, a senior, led the Lady Lions with 34 goals and 15 assists this season, as Fairfield won their first district championship in program history.

Lunsford, also a senior, was selected for her defensive play as a member of the Lady Mustangs’ backfield. The defense of LCHS allowed just seven goals in their first 19 games of the season. Lunsford also had nine assists and one goal her senior season.

Eyre, a junior, totaled 122 saves, starting in all 19 games for the sectional champion Mustangs this year.

Also in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference, North Adams senior goalkeeper Harlee Brand earned first-team All-Ohio honors in Division III. Brand had 82 saves for the Lady Green Devils this season.

In the Frontier Athletic Conference, Jackson senior goalkeeper Mattie Walburn was named to the girls Division II second team. (Her stats were not listed.)
