18 Highland County athletes, 1 coach earn All-SHAC baseball and softball honors

The Southern Hills Athletic Conference this week released the All-SHAC baseball and softball teams, with 18 Highland County athletes gaining honors this spring.

Over half of the All-SHAC baseball team consisted of Highland County players, with Whiteoak leading the way with six selections in Landon Barnett, Carson Emery, Ian Griffith, Nate Price, Luken Roades and Eli Roberts.

Fairfield had three All-SHAC baseball players, Gabe Fouch, Cade Miller and Dow Moon. Fairfield also had the SHAC Coach of the Year, with Kyle Zimmerman receiving this year’s honor for the Lions’ SHAC Div. I championship.

Rounding out the All-SHAC baseball selections for Highland County were two Lynchburg-Clay baseball players, Josiah Burns and Cole Wells.

For softball, each Highland County school was also represented with multiple selections, including Fairfield leading the way with three honorees: Jobey Hattan, Faith Miller and Sydney Sanders. Lynchburg-Clay’s Noel Barnhill and Caitlyn Collins received All-SHAC honors, as did Bri Hill and Jaylie Parr for Whiteoak.

Other All-SHAC baseball team members included: Spencer Gray, Ripley; Wyatt Haupt, Eastern; Clayton Holden, Fayetteville; Aaron Lucas, Manchester; Pryce Murphy, Eastern; Zane Porter, Peebles; Cory Reed, Peebles; Caleb Rothwell, North Adams; Austin Snider, Fayetteville; and Carter Vaughn, Eastern.

The remaining All-SHAC softball team included Emilee Applegate, Manchester; Jenna Campbell, Manchester; Caydence Carroll, Peebles; Kameyl Carter, Manchester; Carlee Garrison, North Adams; Allie Grooms, Eastern; Olivia Lewis, West Union; Brooklyn Manning, Ripley; Alyssa Perkins, Eastern; Kenley Polston, Fayetteville; Tabby Schumacher, Eastern; Victoria Thompson, Fayetteville; Izabella Waddle, Fayetteville; and Rylie Young, Manchester. The SHAC Coach of the Year is Manchester’s Matthias Applegate.
