MaxPreps announced Tuesday that Hillsboro junior Camryn Spruell has been selected as one of three Ohio High School Athletes of the Week for Week 36 of the 2023-24 school year.
Spruell was selected for recognition among softball, baseball, lacrosse and track and field athletes from across Ohio.
According to MaxPreps, Spruell was nominated last week because she “struck out 20 of the 21 batters she faced, pitched a perfect game and hit a home run in an 8-0 win over Miami Trace. Also K’d 12 in a 5-0 over MT. Is 15-1 this season with a 0.70 ERA and 249 Ks.”
The three winners — which also included Brendan Jakeway, a baseball player from Millersport, and Tyson Pryor, a track and field athlete from Gnadenhutten Indian Valley — were announced Tuesday after fan voting closed Monday at noon.
