Lady Indians secure 9th win of season
Wednesday saw the Hillsboro Lady Indians travel to Ross County for a Frontier Athletic Conference game against the Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers, winning the conference matchup by a 52-36 score.
The win improves the Lady Indians to a .500 record overall at 9-9, with a FAC record of 5-4.
HHS was led by Kobie Miles with 12 points in the win, as she collected one two-point basket, one 3-pointer and she was 7-of-8 from the free-throw line.
Peighton Bledsoe finished with 10 points, as she made three two-point field goals, one 3-pointer and from the free-throw line she was 1-of-2.
Kyra Boyd also scored 10 points for Hillsboro, as she made three two-point baskets, one 3-pointer and one free throw.
Rylie Scott totaled seven points for Hillsboro, making two two-point baskets and a 3-pointer.
Tylee Davis and Addyson Miles each scored six points for the Lady Indians. Davis’ points came off two 3-pointers, and Miles sank two baskets from the field and two free throws. Blake Herdman finished with one point for HHS.
Davis and Scott led Hillsboro with five rebounds each, as HHS totaled 28 rebounds in the game. Davis and Scott also led the Lady Indians with four assists each, as the team totaled 12 for the game. Kobie Miles finished with the team lead in steals with five, with HHS totaling 17 for the game.
HHS also committed 17 turnovers.
Other team totals for Hillsboro included 14 two-point baskets, four 3-pointers and they were 12-of-23 from the free-throw line.
Next for Hillsboro is a home non-conference game on Saturday, Jan. 27 vs. Western Brown (11-6) at 3:30 p.m.
