Lady Indians collect 7 hits in loss to Chillicothe

Playing at their home softball field on Wednesday, the Hillsboro Lady Indians collected seven hits, but fell short in the scoring column, falling to the visiting Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers, 5-2.
The loss in Frontier Athletic Conference action saw HHS not only have the seven hits during the April 15 game, but they were tied with CHS 1-1 after the first inning.
CHS took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third, but HHS tied the score at 2-2 with a run rounding the bases in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Chillicothe broke the tied score with a three-run top of the seventh inning for the three-run win over Hillsboro. CHS finished the game with eight hits and one error, and HHS had three errors.
Blair Gard had a two-hit game for HHS, going 2-for-3 with one run as one of her hits was a double.
Harper Conrad was 1-for-2, while Peyton Spurlock was 1-for-4 with one RBI, as she also pitched seven innings with seven strikeouts in the loss.
Addley Miller finished 1-for-4 as she hit a double.
Chloe Roberts went 1-for-3 with a home run, one run, one walk and one RBI.
Rilynn Swisshelm finished 1-for-3 with a double. Emory Zornes was hit by a pitch.
HHS now stands at 0-12 overall.
