Indians suffer weekend loss to Western Brown
On Saturday (Jan. 27), the Hillsboro Indians hosted the Western Brown Broncos and lost the non-conference game by 10 points at 67-57.
In the Indians’ loss to the Broncos, Western Brown had first-half scoring of 17 points in the first frame and 15 points in the second quarter. The second half saw the Broncos score 22 points in the third and 13 points in the fourth quarter.
As for the Indians, they scored 15 points in the first and 12 points in the second quarter. In the second half, the final two quarters consisted of a 14-point third frame and 16 points in the final eight minutes.
The Indians were led by Tate Davis with 21 points, totaling five two-point baskets, two 3-pointers, and he was 5-of-5 from the free-throw line.
Jack Howland finished with 18 points, as he made five two-point baskets, one 3-pointer and he was 5-of-6 with his free-throw attempts.
Steven Kibler totaled 13 points for HHS with four two-point baskets, and he was 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.
The rest of the Indians’ scoring consisted of Nic Burns with four points and Mason Dumpert with one point.
Following Saturday’s loss, the Indians stood at 8-8 overall.
