Indians’ season ends in sectional finals at Sheridan

The Hillsboro Indians had their season come to a close Monday night in the Division II Southeast District Sectional Finals as they lost to the host Sheridan Generals, 10-2. 

Hillsboro’s runs were scored in the fourth and seventh innings. Sheridan began the game with a three-run first inning, followed by five runs in the fourth and two runs in the fifth.

The Indians totaled four hits and committed one error. Sheridan finished with 10 hits and committed two errors.

Brayden Hunter finished 1-for-2, scoring a run, and he collected a steal. Evan Fender was 1-for-1, with his hit being a double, and he scored a run.

Nic Burns went 1-for-2, collecting an RBI, while Walker Pence finished 1-for-2. Ashton Clemons forced a walk for the Indians.

Clemons was charged with the pitching loss, totaling two strikeouts in four innings. Travis Ross pitched two innings, finishing with two strikeouts.

The Indians end the season at 7-19 overall, going 1-1 in the postseason.
