Indians, Lady Indians gain season-opening victories against North Adams
Hillsboro soccer had a season-opening victory Friday night at Hillsboro High School, as the boys soccer team defeated the visiting North Adams Green Devils by a 4-2 score, while the girls soccer team won with a 5-0 score.
For the boys in the win, they had goals scored by Wesley Bailey, Austin Bledsoe, Ryan Howland and Cooper Swope.
Bailey and Bledsoe each were credited with an assist.
The win improves the Indians to 1-0 overall, and they are scheduled to play again Tuesday, Aug. 20 at home against the Zane Trace Pioneers at 5 p.m.
The Hillsboro Lady Indians won by a 5-0 score in their non-conference game against the North Adams Lady Green Devils.
Individual scoring for Hillsboro will be added at a later date.
HHS stands at 1-0 overall and will play again on Monday, Aug. 20 at home against the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs (0-1) at 5 p.m.
