Hillsboro’s Tate Davis named 2023-24 FAC Player of the Year; All-FAC team announced

HILLSBORO — The Hillsboro Indians had one of their own named the 2023-24 Frontier Athletic Conference Player of the Year, as it was announced on Saturday afternoon that junior Tate Davis was named the POY by the coaches of the conference. 

Davis — a two-year varsity starter — was the Indians’ leading scorer with a Highland County-high (for boys basketball) 347 points in the regular season, playing all 22 games, averaging 15.8 points per game. 

Davis’ season game-high scoring this season was 28 points on three occasions against at Jackson (Dec. 8), vs. Paint Valley (Jan. 20) and vs. Washington (Feb. 8).

The remainder of the All-FAC team includes:

HILLSBORO: Jack Howland (freshman)

MIAMI TRACE: Adam Guthrie (sophomore), Bryson Osborne (senior)

WASHINGTON: John Wall (senior), Isaiah Haithcock (senior), Garrett Rickman (senior)

JACKSON: Boston Campbell (senior)

CHILLICOTHE: Cooper Stoneking (sophomore).
