Hillsboro suffers extra-inning loss at Goshen
In a closely contested game Tuesday at Goshen, the Hillsboro Indians lost to non-conference foe, the Goshen Warriors by a 4-3 score as GHS scored three runs in the eighth inning.
HHS led 1-0 after scoring a run in the top of the second inning, and Goshen tied the score in the bottom of the sixth with a run of their own.
After the game went to extra innings, the Indians took a 3-1 lead with two runs in the top of the eighth inning. Goshen responded with a walk-off win by scoring three runs in the bottom of the eighth to seal the non-conference victory over the visiting Indians.
Hillsboro finished the game with six hits and no errors, while Goshen totaled 11 hits and committed three errors.
Korbin Adams led the Indians at 2-for-4 with one run. Brayden Hunter was 1-for-2 with a run and two walks. Bryce Parsons was 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Jackson Cornele was also 1-for-4 but he scored a run. Ovid Wilson finished 1-for-4 with a steal. Nic Burns collected an RBI and a walk, while Walker Pence forced a walk.
Garet Thompson pitched a seven-inning game where he allowed two earned runs on 10 hits and two walks, as he also had six strikeouts.
Nic Burns pitched 0.1 innings, allowing two earned runs on one hit and two walks. He finished with one strikeout.
The Indians are now 5-18 overall this season.
