Hillsboro Lady Indians finish district runners-up

Playing in a Division IV SE District Finals match on Thursday (Oct. 23), the Hillsboro Lady Indians were defeated by the Alexander Lady Spartans by a 2-1 score at Valley High School.

No. 1 seeded Alexander led 2-0 at halftime with both goals from Eliza Blaney, as one was assisted by Arbor Albano. At goal for Alexander was Brooklyn Metts with four saves.

For No. 5 seeded Hillsboro, their second-half goal was scored by Kobie Miles, and it was assisted by Ella Jordan.

At keeper for the Lady Indians was Phoebe Holland, finishing with 10 saves.

Hillsboro ends the season at 10-9-1 overall, and they were 5-5 in the Frontier Athletic Conference.

Seniors for Hillsboro are Taylor Thoroman, Kobie Miles, Kamryn Asbury and Meredith Dietrick.

Alexander will face another SE District champion in Division IV, the McClain Lady Tigers on Tuesday, Oct. 28 in the Div. IV Regional Semifinals at Jackson High School at 7 p.m.
