Hillsboro boys soccer bows out of postseason

Playing on Tuesday evening at Circleville High School, the No. 10 seeded Hillsboro Indians fell to the No. 7 seeded Circleville Tigers by a 3-2 score in a first-round Division III District Soccer Tournament match.
Hillsboro trailed 3-0 at halftime but battled back in the second half for their two goals, while keeping Circleville scoreless in the final 40 minutes.
Goals scored by the Indians were by Cooper Swope and Easton Inman. Swope’s goal was assisted by Jacob Seaman, and Inman’s goal was assisted by Swope.
For the match, the Indians totaled nine shots.
At goal for Hillsboro was Owen Davis with nine saves.
This season, the Indians finish with an overall record of 6-9-3 with a Frontier Athletic Conference record of 3-3-2.
Victories for the Indians this season were against Fairfield, Chillicothe, McClain (twice), Piketon and Clinton-Massie. HHS had ties against Miami Trace, Chillicothe and Peebles.
Seniors for Hillsboro are Ryan Howland, Cooper Swope, Jacob Seaman, Dylan Bender, Mathias Hostetler and Cameron Burkard.
