8 Highland County players selected to Prep Baseball All-Ohio teams

Highland County brought in more baseball honors this week from the 2024 spring season, as eight players from Lynchburg-Clay, Fairfield and Whiteoak were selected to the Prep Baseball All-Ohio teams for Division III and Division IV.
In Division IV, Lynchburg-Clay junior Cole Wells was named second-team All-Ohio by Prep Baseball Report, as he was a two-way selection. In his junior season, Wells had a .534 batting average, and with that he collected six doubles, three triples and one home run, scored 18 runs, had 28 RBI and finished with 10 steals.
As a pitcher, Wells tossed 52.2 innings, with a 6-1 record and one save. Wells also had a 1.19 ERA, with 76 strikeouts and 18 walks, and held opponents to a .178 batting average.
In Division IV, Fairfield senior Cade Miller was selected as an infielder, but also excelled from the mound for his second-team selection. Miller at the plate batted .442 with eight doubles, one triple, one home run, 26 runs, 19 RBI and 11 steals.
On the mound, Miller pitched 56 innings, finishing with a 7-1 record and one save. Miller also had a 0.62 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP while collecting 90 strikeouts, and he walked 20.
Earning honorable mention Division IV All-Ohio was Fairfield junior Zane Matthews, as he was selected as an infielder. Matthews batted .500 his junior season with nine doubles, one home run, 33 runs, 30 RBI and he had 19 steals.
Fairfield senior Gabe Fouch was also a Division IV honorable mention All-Ohio selection by the Prep Baseball Report. Fouch – who was selected as a two-way player — in the 2024 season pitched 46 innings, with a 5-2 record. His ERA was 0.45 with a 0.93 WHIP, 80 strikeouts and he walked 18.
At the plate, Fouch had a .315 batting average, with six doubles, four triples, 26 runs, 17 RBI and seven steals.
Whiteoak had four All-Ohio selections in Division IV by the Prep Baseball Report, all honorable mention, starting with senior infielder Eli Roberts, who batted .347 with a .490 OBP. Roberts collected five doubles, one triple, two home runs, 21 runs, 22 RBI, 16 walks, five hits by pitch and he had 31 steals.
WHS senior pitcher Kaden Moon-Stone pitched 59 innings with a 5-4 record. He totaled a 1.18 ERA with a 1.11 WHIP, and his final stats included 70 strikeouts and 19 walks.
Whiteoak freshman Izayah Clift finished his first season with 47.2 innings pitched and a 4-2 record. Clift had one save, a 0.73 ERA, a 0.75 WHIP, 59 strikeouts and seven walks.
WHS junior Zander Roades was a two-way selection, as he finished the season with a .403 batting average with a .549 OBP. Roades also totaled 10 doubles, 29 runs, nine RBI, 23 walks, two hits by pitch and 28 steals.
As a pitcher, Roades tossed 35 innings, with a 3-2 record. Roades also had a 0.80 ERA with a 1.11 WHIP, 53 strikeouts and nine walks.
