Tigers make comeback; fall by 1 point at Jackson
The McClain Tigers trailed by 16 points at halftime on Tuesday on the road against the Jackson Ironmen, but the Tigers came out of the locker room in the second half and made it a competitive game, falling by just one point by a 47-46 score against the Ironmen in Frontier Athletic Conference action.
McClain was led in scoring in the FAC game by junior Jordan Bell with 15 points.
Next in the scoring column were senior Zane Adams and senior Brandon Greene with 13 points apiece. The Tigers also had five points from senior Owen Sykes.
The loss sends McClain to a 2-2 overall record, with an 0-2 mark in the FAC.

Indians lose road FAC game against Washington
The Hillsboro Indians lost their second Frontier Athletic Conference game of the 2024-25 season on Tuesday evening, falling to the host Washington Blue Lions, 58-41 in Washington Court House.
HHS trailed 13-6 after the first quarter but had a strong second quarter as they won the frame at 16-8, leaving the score 22-21 in favor of the Indians once halftime arrived.
Washington had the stronger second half by outscoring the visiting Indians 21-6 in the third and 16-13 in the fourth quarter.
The Indians had 11 points from Tate Davis for the team lead, followed by Xander Lake with 10 points.
The rest of the Indians’ scoring included Jack Howland with five points, Tre Captain with five points, Brayden Hunter with five points, Mason Dumpert totaling three points and Dylan Dixon scoring two points.
The Blue Lions’ leading scorer was Roman Chijevsky with a 20-point effort.
HHS falls to 0-2 in the FAC, and the Indians are 2-2 overall. The Blue Lions move to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the FAC.

Lions earn win over Peebles
The Fairfield Lions won on the road Tuesday night for a Frontier Athletic Conference victory, defeating the host Peebles Indians 58-47.
Fairfield was led in scoring by Logan McIntosh with 20 points as he made five two-point baskets, two 3-pointers and he was 4-of-5 from the free-throw line.
Next was an 18-point effort from Griffin Friend, who made one 3-pointer, three two-point baskets and he finished 9-of-10 from the free-throw line.
Brody Smith followed with 14 points, collecting five two-point and one three-point basket, plus he finished 1-of-2 from the free-throw line.
Caleb Barrera, Chase Newman and Quentin McIntosh each scored two points for the Lions.
As a team, the Lions totaled 16 two-point baskets, nine 3-pointers, and they were 14-of-19 in their free-throw attempts.
The Lions improve to 4-0 overall, and they are also 4-0 in the SHAC.
