Tigers fall in non-conference game against Broncos

Saturday afternoon (May 9) the McClain Tigers hosted the Western Brown Broncos at Tom Hixson Field at Mitchell Park where they fell by a 7-2 score.
The Broncos scored one run in the top of the fourth inning, then took the lead with six runs in the top of the seventh inning. McClain scored one run in the bottom of the first, then a run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
For the game, the Tigers collected three hits and had four errors. WBHS finished with six hits and two errors.
McClain’s three hits were off the bats of Connor Chandler (1-for-2, one run, two walks, four steals), Hunter Peabody (1-for-2, a walk) and Easton Ary (1-for-3).
Carson Chandler finished with one walk. Matthew Cummins had one run, a walk and a steal. Benny Vangundy collected one RBI.
Ary pitched six innings, allowing no earned runs on three hits and four walks with nine strikeouts. Carson Chandler pitched one inning with no earned runs with one strikeout.
