Lady Tigers unable to top former conference foe Clinton-Massie

In a game between two former conference rivals, the McClain Lady Tigers traveled to Clarksville on Wednesday to face the Clinton-Massie Lady Falcons, where they lost by a 10-4 score.
There were positives for McClain on the scoreboard, as they were tied with CMHS at 1-1 when the first inning ended, and after the Lady Falcons scored three runs in the bottom of the third for a 4-1 CMHS advantage, the Lady Tigers battled back.
McClain fought hard with three runs crossing the plate in the top of the fourth inning for a 4-4 tied score, but the Lady Falcons fought back too in the bottom of the inning.
Clinton-Massie scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth for a 9-4 lead and added one last run in the sixth for their six-run win.
MHS totaled seven hits and had four errors, while CMHS had 12 hits and no errors.
Six Lady Tigers had hits in the game, with Leah Lovett going 2-for-3 with one run as one of her two hits was a double, and she had a stolen base.
Milla Everetts finished 1-for-3, and Brie Cummins was also 1-for-3 with a run and a stolen base. Olivia Stegbauer ended the day at 1-for-3 with a run, and Amaya Ryan was also 1-for-3 as she added one run and two RBI. The Lady Tigers also had Kyndee Williams go 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Williams was charged with the loss in the circle with six innings pitched, six earned runs and one strikeout.
McClain now stands at 7-12 overall this season.
