Lions shut out against Manchester

The Fairfield Lions played the Manchester Greyhounds on Friday, May 9 where they lost their Southern Hills Athletic Conference game by a 12-0 score at FHS.
Manchester scored nine runs in the top of the first inning, then added a run in the third and two final runs in the fifth inning.
MHS totaled eight hits and had one error, while the Lions were no-hit and had three errors.
Thomas Barnhart pitched the no-hitter for the Greyhounds, finishing with five innings pitched, allowing no runs or hits with four walks and five strikeouts.
The Lions had two walks by Blaine Fauber, as he had no official at-bats, while Zane Matthews and Caleb Rice each had one walk, as Rice also finished with two steals. Matthews and Anderson Humphreys were both hit by a pitch.
The Lions now stand at 8-7 overall this season and are 7-4 in the DIvision II SHAC standings.
