Lions fall to Northwest; Lady Lions net 12 goals in win against NWHS
Monday was a huge night for the Fairfield Lady Lions soccer team’s offense, as they dominated the Northwest Lady Mohawks on Aug. 26 by a 12-0 score.
Fairfield’s Vivian Henninger scored five goals in the non-conference win.
The Lady Lions also saw Emerson Zink finish with two goals, and Meri Jackson scored two goals as well.
Hannah Hamilton, Ava Hooper and Sophie Humphrey each scored one goal.
Credited with assists were Miley Brown with two, Zink with two, and with one assist each were Humphrey, Jackson, Whitlee Morrow, Kendal Welling and Khloe Welling.
At goal in the shutout was Henninger with one save, and also at goal were Jackson and Claire Newkirk.
The win by FHS moves them to 4-1 overall, as they are 2-0 in the SHAC.
Also on Monday, the FHS boys lost by a 3-2 score against NWHS in non-conference action.
Logan McIntosh scored a goal for FHS, and NWHS had an own goal that was credited to Fairfield.
Zane Matthews was the keeper for the Lions, totaling nine saves.
The Lions are now 1-5 overall with a 1-1 record in the SHAC standings.
