Lady Lions win 3rd consecutive game

The Fairfield Lady Lions earned a big Southern Hills Athletic Conference win away from their home court by defeating the host Ripley Lady Blue Jays by a 56-32 score at Ripley High School on Monday night.
The Dec. 8 victory saw the Lady Lions begin with an 11-5 first quarter lead after eight minutes ticked off the clock, and they then doubled up Ripley with a 16-8 second frame.
Fairfield — who was playing in their fourth consecutive road game — led 27-13 at halftime, and again it was a 16-8 third quarter with Fairfield winning the frame for a 43-21 score after three complete quarters. The fourth frame was a little closer as Fairfield scored 13 points and Ripley scored 11 points.
For the game, the Lady Blue Jays totaled seven two-point baskets and five 3-pointers. Fairfield finished the game with 16 two-point baskets and four 3-pointers.
Meri Jackson led the Lady Lions with 14 points as she made six two-point baskets and was 2-of-3 from the free-throw line.
Rilee Quickle was second in scoring with 13 points, with her totals being three two-point baskets, one 3-pointer and she was 4-of-5 from the free-throw line.
Isabelle Hale finished with nine points, as she connected with one 3-pointer and three two-point buckets.
Totaling eight points was Vivian Henninger by making four two-point baskets. Jaeden Drury totaled five points with a 3-pointer and two-point basket.
The Lady Lions had three points off a 3-pointer by Landyn Hodson. Paisley Stahlhut ended the game with two points with one made basket. Also with two points was Brya Fauber with a basket.
Fairfield now stands at 4-1 overall, and they move to 2-1 in the SHAC Division II standings. RHS moves to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the SHAC Div. I standings.
Next for Fairfield is their fifth consecutive road game on Thursday, Dec. 11 against the host Peebles Lady Indians (2-2).
