This was the second game between the Lady Lions and Lady Bearcats in five days. In their first meeting it was Fairfield outlasting Paint Valley to win 5-2 in eight innings, but Tuesday’s game was much different with Fairfield erupting for 12 runs on 14 hits, including seven for extra bases, and a 12-1 win.

The Lady Lions expanded their lead to 9-1 with three runs in the bottom of the third inning. Ava White was safe on an error, and Jorja May followed with an infield single. Whitlee Morrow brought the Lady Lion fans to their feet with a blast to the fence in centerfield, racing around the bases, sliding in safely at home for an inside-the-park three-run home run.
Fairfield completed the scoring with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Alyssa Bales singled, Smith singled, Avery Morrow doubled, White doubled, pinch hitter Layla Howard drew a walk and Whitlee Morrow singled.
Quickle was again brilliant in the circle. After giving up an unearned run in the top of the first inning, she scattered four hits and shut out the Lady Bearcats in the final four innings while striking out six batters.
