Lady Lions score 11 goals in win over Peebles; Lions soccer falls to Indians

The Fairfield Lady Lions had a four-goal performance from Vivian Henninger en route to an 11-0 win over the Peebles Lady Indians in Southern Hills Athletic Conference action at PHS on Monday, Aug. 20.

Henninger totaled not only the four goals, but she also had three assists in the varsity win.

Ava Hooper of Fairfield led the team with six assists.

Fairfield’s Sophie Humphrey totaled two goals, and teammate Kendal Welling also had two goals.

Meri Jackson ended the game with a goal, and teammate Whitlee Morrow had an assist in the win.

The Lady Lions also had Rilee Quickle and Emerson Zink each scoring a goal in the win. Landry Teeters collected an assist.

At goal in the shutout win for the Lady Lions were Claire Newkirk and Jackson, as Jackson collected one save.

The Lady Lions are now 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the SHAC.

The FHS Lady Lions will next play Wednesday, Aug. 21 at home vs. Ripley.

In the boys match, the Lions lost by a 3-1 score. Scoring the lone goal for FHS was Dane Hodson, with the assist from Logan McIntosh.

Zane Matthews finished with five saves. The loss moves FHS to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the SHAC.
