Lady Lions fall to Peebles in SHAC road game
The Fairfield Lady Lions dropped a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game Wednesday (Nov. 29) to the host Peebles Lady Indians by a 56-45 score.
The game saw Fairfield lead after the conclusion of the first quarter by a 12-10 score, but the home team took the halftime lead of 23-21 after outscoring the Lady Lions 13-9 in the second quarter.
Fairfield won the third quarter at 15-12, but the fourth quarter belonged to Peebles as they outscored the Lady Lions, 21-9 for the 11-point win over FHS.
As a team, the Lady Lions totaled 15 rebounds, 13 assists, eight steals and three blocks, and they had 16 turnovers.
Kelsey Clark led FHS with 10 points, while she also finished with four rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks.
Three Fairfield players each finished with eight points, with those players being Rilee Quickle, Kassi Miller and Jaeden Drury.
Quickle also had four rebounds and two steals; Miller finished with three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block; and Drury totaled three rebounds and one steal.
Meri Jackson finished with six points, and Faith Donley ended the game with five points, one rebound, eight assists and two steals.
Peebles was led in scoring by Payton Johnson with 36 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double.
FHS now stands at 1-1 in the SHAC and 1-2 overall.
