Fairfield, Unioto combine for 23 runs in Lady Lions victory

Fifteen hits by the Fairfield Lady Lions helped to get just enough runs for them to gain their third win in five games to start the 2026 season, as they defeated the Unioto Lady Shermans 12-11 at Unioto High School on Wednesday evening.
Gaining the win on March 25, the Fairfield squad had their 15 hits from eight batters, including a three-hit game from Rilee Quickle, who was 3-for-5 with two runs and two steals. Quickle was also the winning pitcher, as she pitched all seven innings with three strikeouts.
Five Fairfield players had two hits each, with Kelsie Crowder going 2-for-4 with three runs, one RBI, two walks and one steal. Jorja May was 2-for-4 with one steal.
Ally Maynard ended at 2-for-4 with three runs, one RBI, one walk and two steals.
Jorgia Smith was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, and she also drew a walk. Ava White finished the game at 2-for-5 with three RBI.
Alyssa Bales ended the game at 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI, plus she was hit by a pitch. Whitlee Morrow wrapped up the game at 1-for-3 with one run scored.
In all for FHS, they scored 12 runs, had 15 hits, nine RBI, two doubles, five walks, one HBP and six steals.
The win sends Fairfield to a 3-2 overall record, and they are scheduled to play next in their Southern Hills Athletic Conference opener Tuesday, March 31 on the road against the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs (2-0) at 5 p.m.
