Fairfield falls to first-place North Adams

Thursday night (Jan. 25) saw the Fairfield Lady Lions lose on the road in a Southern Hills athletic Conference game to the host North Adams Lady Green Devils — who are in first place in the Division I SHAC standings — by a 59-30 score.
North Adams led 10-7 after the first quarter, and following an 18-4 second frame in favor of the Lady Green Devils from Adams County, it was Fairfield trailing by a 28-11 score.
The second half saw NAHS score 22 points in the third quarter and nine points in the fourth frame, while FHS added 10 points to their total in the third and nine points in the fourth quarter.
Faith Donley was the leading scorer for Fairfield with 14 points, as the senior totaled three 3-pointers, two two-point baskets and she was 1-of-1 from the free-throw line.
The rest of the Lady Lions’ scoring included Kelsey Clark with five points, Rilee Quickle with four points, Meri Jackson with three points, and with two points each were Kassi Miller and Isabelle Hale.
As a team, FHS totaled 18 rebounds with Clark and Vivian Henninger leading the way with four each. Quickle led FHS with three assists, and Clark was the steals leader with four in the game.
The Lady Lions committed 23 turnovers.
