Fairfield boys golf gains wins in early part of ‘26 season

Lions defeat East Clinton 

At Buckeye Hills Country Club, the Fairfield Lions defeated the East Clinton Astros in non-conference play by a 176-202 score. 

Scores for the Lions included: Pierce Abbott 42, Van Bennington 43, Mack Morrow 45, Greyson Abbott 46, Davis McKenzie 51, Archer Cline 52, Keegan Bender 57, and Keenan White 58.

Thursday, July 30
Fairfield competes at Portsmouth Invitational
 

Four Fairfield Lions golfers competed at the Portsmouth Invitational, at the Portsmouth Elks, in an 18-hole event where they totaled a score of 372.

Competing for the Lions were: Van Bennington 83, Pierce Abbott 89, Greyson Abbott 99, and Mack Morrow 101.

Monday, Aug. 3 
Lions defeat SHAC rival North Adams
 

The Fairfield Lions earned a SHAC victory on Monday, Aug. 3 by defeating the North Adams Green Devils 178-200 at Buckeye Hills. 

Scores for the Lions were: Pierce Abbott 42, Van Bennington 44, Mack Morrow 44, Greyson Abbott 48, Keegan Bender 50, Davis McKenzie 55, Liam Frost 64, and Bently West 64.

Tuesday, Aug. 4
Fairfield boys golf plays at Adena Invitational 

The Lions of Fairfield returned to the links on Tuesday, this time at the Adena Invitational where they carded a team score of 362 in the 18-hole event at Jaycees. 

Fairfield scores included: Pierce Abbott 84, Van Bennington 87, Greyson Abbott 92, Davis McKenzie 99, and Mack Morrow 103.

Thursday, Aug. 6
Lions play at the Bethel-Tate Invitational 

Playing at the Friendly Meadows Golf Course in the Bethel-Tate Invitational on Thursday (Aug. 6), the Fairfield Lions boys golf team carded a team score of 360 for the event. 

In the 18-hole match, the Lions were led by Pierce Abbott with a score of 84. Next was Van Bennington carding an 89. The rest of the scores for the Lions included: Greyson Abbott 93, Mack Morrow 94, Davis McKenzie 104, and Keenan White 111.
