Chambliss, Quickle combine for perfect game; Fairfield defeats West Union

The Fairfield Lady Lions closed out the regular season in a big way, defeating the West Union Lady Dragons, 22-0 as Katelyn Chambliss and Caitlyn Quickle combined to pitch a perfect game, facing the minimum 15 batters in the five-inning contest at Fairfield High School. 

The Lady Lions played errorless softball to help complete the perfect game. Caitlyn Quickle started the game in the circle and pitched the first inning, striking out two of the three batters she faced.

Katelyn Chambliss pitched the next four innings and struck out five of the 12 batters she faced to pick up the victory.
Fairfield scored early and often, with four runs in the first inning, five runs in the second inning, 10 runs in the third inning and three innings in the fourth inning. The Lady Lions had 15 hits in the game, with all nine starting players having at least one hit.

Leading hitters for the Lady Lions were: Rilee Quickle (2-for-3, double, three runs, one RBI), Jobey Hattan (1-for-3, two runs), Caitlyn Quickle (2-for-3, double, two runs, three RBI), Emmi Vance (2-for-2, double, three runs, two RBI), Carly Sanders (2-for-2, two runs, four RBI), Katelyn Chambliss (1-for-1, sac fly, one run, 2 RBI), Addison Bales (1-for-2, two runs, two RBI), Ally Maynard (2-for-2, two doubles, three runs, two RBI) and Whitlee Morrow (2-for-3, one run, one RBI).           

Katelyn Chambliss (3-2) picked up the win for Fairfield, pitching four innings, allowing no hits, no runs, no earned runs and no walks, with five strikeouts.  

Caitlyn Quickle pitched one inning, allowing no hits, no runs, no earned runs and no walks, with two strikeouts.
