Workshop for Operation Christmas Child volunteers set for June 9 at New Directions

Operation Christmas Child is a worldwide children’s project of Samaritan’s Purse that uses simple gift-filled shoe boxes to let hurting boys and girls know that they are loved and not forgotten.

More than 10 million shoe boxes were delivered to 100 countries in 2014.

Every day, boys and girls worldwide suffer from war, poverty, disease and natural disaster. Operation Christmas Child (OCC) makes it possible for millions of these children to experience God’s love through shoe boxes filled with gifts.

A team of Operation Christmas Child Year Round Volunteers from the South Central Ohio Area will present a Workshop for project leaders and volunteers at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 9 at New Directions, 910 North 5th Street, Greenfield.

The workshop will provide in-depth information on the ministry, resources and material available, and how partnership with the Area Team will more effectively promote and grow the ministry within a church or organization.

The community is invited to attend, hear from the OCC South Central Ohio Team and learn how to make an eternal difference in the life of a child, a family, and a community through Operation Christmas Child. Discover how new churches are started and communities are changed – all because of shoe box gifts.
