Wilmington Friends of the Library plans annual Books In Bags Event
Mark your calendars for The Friends of the Wilmington Public Library’s (FOL) Annual Books In Bags Event at the library, 268 N. South St., Wilmington, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 14.
Those attending can bring their own bags or use those provided to bag books from a wide selection of titles for children, young adults and adults. Please enter the Library Avenue entrance of the library. (Note: A flyer for this event incorrectly indicated those attending should enter the main library entrance on Birdsall Street.)
The Friends of the Wilmington Public Library is a volunteer group that collects, stocks and rotates books that are available at the library for a monetary donation (but not for re-sale). Cash donations are also appreciated for this special event to help continue the activities of the group, which also supports the library with other projects and equipment purchases.
The FOL adult book room is located to the immediate left upon entering the main entrance of the library. FOL children and young adult books are available on a bookshelf across the room from the circulation desk.
The group welcomes new members who can assist with regular activities and special events and attend meetings at 2:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every month in Kirk Room A.
The group also has a Facebook page and group president Jim Hayslip can be contacted at (937) 556-8204 if interested in becoming involved.
