What’s Going On at the Greenfield Library: Polar Express Reading Program signups underway

Children in fifth grade and younger can still sign up for our Polar Express Reading Program at the Greenfield Library. Pick up your reading log at the library, read enough library books throughout the month to fill it up and return your reading logs by Nov. 30 to receive a golden ticket. Our imaginary train leaves for the “North Pole” on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 11 a.m.

The winners of our Halloween Bag Decorating Contest were recently announced. Winners included: Dalton McKenzie (2-5 age group); Jenna Jenkins (6-9 age group); Nicholas Alvarez (10-12 age group); and Alexis Lanman (teen age group).

The library will host its monthly Middle School Book Club on Tuesday, Nov. 6 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Greenfield Library Community Room. There will be pizza and refreshments, and all middle school students are welcome.

The High School Book Club will meet Thursday, Nov. 8 at 5:30. There will be pizza, and all high school students are welcome to join.

Join our story times for kids (preschool and younger) every Wednesday at 11 a.m. We will have songs, crafts, stories and other activities. Our themes this month include The Color Purple; Being Thankful; and Splish Splash.

The Greenfield Library hosts a senior exercise class every Wednesday at 1 p.m. The fun-filled class is facilitated by Edgewood Manor. Join the group in doing exercises geared toward seniors.

The library will be closed Monday, Nov. 12 in observance of Veterans Day. We will also close at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21 and remain closed Thursday, Nov. 22 for the Thanksgiving holiday. We will reopen at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23.
