Vivian Pfankuch guest speaker at OAGC meeting

Vivian Pfankuch, co-owner of Jaybird Farms, was one of the guest speakers at the fall meeting. She shared her experiences about life on the farm, ardening, the farmers markets and growing lavender. "I was very honored to speak in front of such a prestigious group. Jaybird Farms is located near Buford. The farm and greenhouse was started in 2002 and produces many herbs, cutflowers and vegetables which are sold at farmers markets in Milford and Mt. Washington. In 2008, over 600 lavender plants were planted. In 2009, Jaybird Farms hosted its first annual "Pick Your Own" lavender harvest.
