Vicky and Earl Smith are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
Vicky Pulliam and Earl Lee Smith were united in marriage Dec. 21, 1969 by Rev. Paul Jones in the chapel of Hillsboro Church of Christ.
Earl served in the Army as a First Lieutenant, a veteran of the Vietnam War. After his duty in the Army, Mr. Smith was instrumental in the paper industry, working for Smith & Hopkins (Mead Paper and International Paper). Mrs. Smith was busy raising four daughters, being a homemaker and being a musician, directing children’s choirs and giving piano lessons.
The Smiths’ daughters are Stacey Smith Churchill of Overland Park, Kan.; Shelley Smith of Cincinnati; Shana Perdew of Ashville; and Siobhan Smith of Hillsboro. They have four grandchildren.
Vicky and Earl are members of the Hillsboro Methodist Church and are involved in many activities in Hillsboro. They reside at 634 North High Street, Hillsboro.
