Valeta Doorneweerd leads annual CROP Hunger Walk

Supporters of several local food pantries walked through the city of Hillsboro at the 11th CROP Hunger Walk on Oct. 12.

Beginning at the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church parking lot, the walkers were led by Valeta Doorneweerd.


[[In-content Ad]]The funds raised by the participants were shared among several local food pantries: Friendly Village Community Center in Leesburg; Greenfield Area Christian Center in Greenfield; New Life Ministries in Hillsboro; the Highland County Homeless Shelter in Hillsboro; and Samaritan Outreach Services in Hillsboro. 

CROP (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Hunger Walks are charitable walking events to raise funds to end hunger in the U.S. and around the world.
