U.S. Grant Homestead Association's Home Tour in Georgetown set for Dec. 7
The annual Christmas Home Tour, sponsored by the U.S. Grant Homestead Association, will be on Sunday, Dec. 7 from noon-5 p.m.
The tour begins at the Town Building at the intersection of State and Main Streets (State Street entrance), where you can buy tickets and pick up a tour packet.
Tickets are $10 and everyone will be entered in the drawing for a special John Ruthven-Thompson House Basket with a retail value of over $125. You do not have to be present to win.

Tickets are available at Donohoo’s Drugstore on the west side of the courthouse square or by phone at 937-378-3087.
Seven sites are in this year’s tour, including the 1843 Tunnel Mill on S.R. 221. The historic mill was purchased by Ken and Judy Klosterman in 2012 and after a formidable rebuilding project, is ready to welcome visitors.
Learn about the history and operation of the mill, and prepare to be amazed by Ken Klosterman’s fascinating and unmatched collection of magic equipment and memorabilia.
There will be guided tours of the Town Building offices and Gaslight Theater, and the U.S. Grant Boyhood Home will be decorated for an 1830s Christmas.
Homes on the tour include Mary and Ray Adkins' 1864 home on North Water Street featuring several major additions; Marge and Bill Ellis' home with its English carriage house and garage in the woods on Free Soil Road; Kathy and Ken Liming's recently remodeled contemporary on Heritage Hill; and Sue McKinley's 1929 vintage town home on South Main Street with its new country home interior.
In the event of cancellation due to weather, the tour will be held on Sunday, Dec. 14.
