Start a Cooperative with OSU Extension Workshop
Cooperatives can be a great strategy for small businesses, especially those in agriculture.
Ohio State University’s South Centers at Piketon will be offering a “Cooperative Opportunities for Producers” workshop on April 15 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Attendees will learn about the advantages of forming and participating in a cooperative. The program will be led by Tom Snyder, manager of OSU South Center’s Ohio Cooperative Development Center. Snyder will be joined by Christie Welch, an Ohio State University Extension farmers’ market specialist. Welch will discuss the pros and cons of the cooperative structure for farmers’ markets.
The workshop is part of OSU South Center’s Third Thursday Horticulture Business Training Series. Registration fee is $5 per person. OSU South Centers is located at 1864 Shyville Road, Piketon, Ohio.
