SOACDF hosts Young Farmers program luncheon

The Southern Ohio Agricultural and Community Development Foundation hosted a recognition luncheon on Friday, March 18 at The Ohio State South Centers in Piketon for the program’s Young Farmer award winners.
Those in attendance sat down with the Foundations Board and discussed the program and impact it made in their local communities.
Ohio Department of Agriculture Director David Daniels spoke about current agriculture issues and the future of agriculture in Ohio. Melinda Witten, Director of Leadership at Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, spoke to the group about current Young Farmer opportunities through Ohio Farm Bureau as well as the importance of being involved in the Agriculture Industry as the next generation.

The Southern Ohio Agricultural and Community Development Foundation serves 22 counties with programs to help benefit Agriculture Development, Young Farmers, Educational Assistance and Economic Development.
New program periods will begin in the month of July. Those interested can contact the office or visit www.soacdf.net for more details.
