'The Show of the Season' Saturday, Nov. 15

“The Show of the Season” is one stop you will want to make for holiday shopping. The 23rd annual event will be held on Nov. 15 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Fayette County Fairgrounds in Washington Court House.
The show has generated thousands of dollars for the students of the Miami Trace School District. While becoming a huge success for the schools, it has also become the largest gathering of crafters in the southwest Ohio area. For the past several years “The Show of the Season” has been juried, therefore, the quality is excellent and the selection is quite varied.

According to show organizers, the show began in one building and has grown to now include three large buildings. The indoor areas allow room for 75 exhibitors, as well as an area to enjoy a delicious bowl of homemade chicken and noodles, a hot sandwich or a slice of pie.
Parents, teachers and grandparents will also be serving baked goods, pies, cakes and rolls, as well as breads and candies. Shoppers can also enjoy the old-time sound of the hammered dulcimer as Mountain Mist serenades the crowd.
A few of the many goods available will be herbal arrangements and lotions, children’s items, baskets, candles, as well as clothing, tin and pottery. There will be many wooden items such as furniture, shelves and toys in a variety of finishes. Also featured will be hand-woven rugs, pillows, dolls, primitives, along with quilts, forged iron, stained glass and several types of patriotic and collector items such as snowmen and Santas.
Several artisans will be dressed in vintage clothing to demonstrate their work as they come from all over Ohio to peddle their wares.
The fairgrounds are conveniently located only 10 minutes from the Tanger Outlet Malls. The price of admission is $1. For more information, contact Heather Deskins at (740) 335-3933 or heatherdeskins@hotmail.com.
