Santa making an early stop in Leesburg on Dec. 8

LEESBURG – Santa Claus has heard from the Leesburg Lions Club that this is the 25th year for the town Luminaria and he plans to make a stop to visit with all the boys and girls on Dec. 8.

Word is that he will be at Square One Heating & Cooling in downtown Leesburg from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 8, just in time to see all the beautiful luminaries light up the town.

The Luminaria starts at 5 p.m. with the lighting of the candles, followed by the King and Queen crowning at the Leesburg Library at 5:45 p.m.

Many downtown businesses will be having open house from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. with lots of tasty treats to share with everyone. And, as a special treat, wagon rides will be available for all to view the beautiful lights.

The pickup and dropoff point is Square One, so you can stop by and visit Santa before or after your ride around the town.

The evening will be topped off by the annual Community Christmas Service at 7:30 p.m. This year the service will be at the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union on Barger Road.

So, make plans to pack up the kids and come to Leesburg on Dec. 8 to enjoy this festive celebration.
